Spotlight on New Grants


The Trustees of the J.W. McConnell Family Foundation have approved the following grants and contributions:


 
Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami
($100,000) To design an Inuit-specific approach to early childhood developmental screening and assessment for Inuit children entering kindergarten.

Ulnooweg Financial Education Centre
($355,000) To support the development and implementation of a revamped Community Financial Review Process, which will assist with the financial education of Aboriginal communities regionally, nationally and, possibly, internationally.

UBC Human Early Learning Partnership (HELP)
($225,000) To enable the national expansion of the Middle Years Development Instrument (MDI), a tool filled out by children that provides rich data to schools and communities about actions that could be taken to improve wellbeing.
