The Trustees of the J.W. McConnell Family Foundation have approved the following grants and contributions:
Canopy/Salal Foundation ($410,000), to support the introduction of straw-based paper production as an environmental and community economic development strategy.
Artscape ($350,000), to initiate the Artscape program in British Columbia, and to consolidate and share learning about this award-winning program for revitalizing neighbourhoods through the creation of the Artscape Launchpad, an
arts-based innovation and entrepreneurship hub in Toronto.
Tides Canada Foundation ($352,000), for an emerging leaders program in the Northwest Territories, Yukon, and Nunavut, focused on environmental sustainability and community cohesion.
Centre de répit Philou ($380,000), to support the integration of government-mandated education with personalized support to physically and intellectually disabled children, combined with periods of respite for the family.
SKETCH ($538,000), for the implementation and evaluation of a new program framework to enable this arts-based intervention with street-involved youth to consolidate, monitor, and disseminate its program model.
