Spotlight on new grants

The Trustees of the McConnell Foundation recently approved funding for several organizations and initiatives.

Transition Accelerator ($500,000): A grant from the Foundation will enable The Transition Accelerator to design pathways for the transition to a low-carbon economy.

Climate Action Plan for Montreal ($150,000):  This grant will support a network of organizations working to make Montreal carbon-neutral by 2050.

Common Wealth ($161,231): Support from the Foundation will be used to continue outreach to nonprofit sector employers to provide the Common Good Retirement to their employees and to develop financial education and literacy materials tailored for the unique needs of the nonprofit sector.

CityStudio ($300,000) : A grant from the Foundation will be used to expand the CityStudio model to more cities across Canada.

USC Canada ($491,000): USC Canada will use this grant to increase the number of farmers and researchers engaged in sustainable farming, participatory plant breeding through the Bauta Family Initiative on Canadian Seed Security.
