Join the McConnell team to support progressive change in Canada
Headquartered in Montreal, and with additional staff in Ottawa, Toronto and Vancouver, the McConnell Foundation is a national private foundation that supports efforts to build a more inclusive, sustainable, resilient and innovative Canada.
The Foundation is currently recruiting a Program Director. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team that is co-creating innovative and scalable approaches to some of Canada’s toughest challenges – such as climate change, income inequality, civic engagement, the wellbeing of diverse communities and Indigenous reconciliation – while also developing innovative approaches to shifting large systems.
As a growing number of leaders in the charitable, private and public sectors set their sights on achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, we know that no one organization or sector can make progress in isolation. McConnell works in partnerships and multisectoral coalitions, and integrates its grantmaking activities with impact finance, strategic convening and capacity building for systemic change. The successful candidate should therefore excel in an environment of complexity, and enjoy engaging with people of diverse perspectives, skills, worldviews and socioeconomic backgrounds.
The Program Director will develop strategic and operational relationships with key stakeholders in multiple sectors, lead work on one or more Foundation initiatives, manage a portfolio of grants, advise on impact investments, generate and disseminate knowledge that will help create positive impact, and participate in the life of the Foundation through workshops, convenings and other activities.
The Program Director will work from the Montreal office. The Foundation offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
Application deadline: May 3, 2019
