Position Summary

Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) plays a leadership role within the McConnell Foundation ensuring that the strategic direction and operational levers of the Foundation’s investments are aligned with its mission. The CIO develops, recommends and implements the strategies, policies, procedures and initiatives for the endowment. He/she oversees the key aspects of the endowment including external asset management, asset allocation, portfolio rebalancing, risk management, compliance, impact investing, sustainable finance and staffing. The CIO oversees the development and preparation of all presentations and reporting to the Investment Committee and the Board, ensuring that the Board’s and Investment Committee’s responsibilities under their respective Terms of Reference are met. As a member of the senior leadership team, the CIO will assist in overseeing organizational policy, strategy, and initiatives to advance the organization. Finally, the CIO liaises with external constituencies on investment-related issues including the field of impact investing.
