Innoweave, an initiative of the J.W. McConnell Family Foundation, Social Innovation Generation and partners, is helping community organizations learn about and implement innovative new approaches. “The Innoweave process has been thorough and the quality of the coaching and materials topnotch.” says Seana Irvine of Evergreen, a participant in the Impact and Strategic Clarity module.
Innoweave now has seven modules including Social Enterprise, Social Finance, Developmental Evaluation, Cloud Computing, Impact & Strategic Clarity, and the recently launched Collective Impact and Outcomes Finance modules. Each module includes web information, workshops, and coaching.
Since January, Innoweave has partnered with 10 different community organizations, United Ways, and foundations to hold workshops across the country. More workshops are planned for the fall and winter.
Organizations that have participated in Innoweave workshops are connecting with coaches listed on Innoweave.ca and applying for grants. Applications for Innoweave coaching grants close July 2. A second round will open by November 2013.
In coming months, Innoweave will hold several webinars to complement its workshops:
- On July 4, Grantbook will deliver the first of three cloud computing webinars. Each webinar will provide detailed information on a specific type of cloud computing tool. The first will focus on productivity suites, including mail, calendar and applications.
- In July, Enterprising Non Profits will lead a three part series on Social Enterprise for Employment hosted by the Counselling Foundation of Canada.
- On September 13th, Innoweave will host an Introduction to Social Enterprise webinar, which will be useful preparation for the Innoweave Social Enterprise workshop.
