Youth Climate Lab

Background of the organization

Youth Climate Lab (YCL) is a Canada-based, global non-profit organization that accelerates youth-led climate policy, projects, and businesses. YCL designs, pilots and scales innovative projects that tackle challenges faced by young people to accelerate their climate solutions. YCL has established partnerships to increase youth representation in governments, skills and employment organizations, international climate negotiations, and other sectors.

Project description

YCL’s “Shifts” are capacity building projects that target structural changes to empower youth to contribute to a just, climate-resilient world. Funds from the Foundation will be used to scale three “Shifts”: 1. Skills shift: to equip youth with skills to create community-driven climate solutions; 2. Policy shift: to create opportunities for young people to influence climate policy; and 3. Finance shift: to create more equitable access to investments and to scale youth-led climate technologies
