Background of the Org:

The Circle on Philanthropy and Aboriginal Peoples in Canada is an open network to promote giving, sharing, and philanthropy in Aboriginal communities across the country. The goal of the Circle is to connect with, and support the empowerment of First Nations, Inuit and Métis nations, communities, and individuals in building a stronger, healthier future.

Grant Description:

A grant from the Foundation will support The Circle to achieve the following:

  1. Organizational strength: board governance, membership engagement, fiscal management.
  2. Peer learning for community and philanthropic partners: storytelling events, co-design of Reconciliation program, develop and disseminate research on Indigenous issues.
  3. Relationship and partnership building: convene Indigenous-led charitable organizations, create a program that enables members to experience land-based activities and deeper learning of Indigenous cultures.
