La Pépinière, Espaces Collectifs

Background of the organisation

La Pépinière –  Espaces Collectifs is a non-profit organization dedicated to developing more participative cities. Based on collective involvement, its projects stimulate and accompany the emergence of community living spaces, aimed at improving our living environments. By creating and managing public spaces thought to be places of meeting and sharing, La Pépinière contributes to making cities more humane, regenerative and participative.

Grant Description:

Funds from the foundation will be used to help La Pépinière to expand its PEP Academy to Toronto. Three demonstration projects will be produced in 2019 to promote civic engagement and social inclusion. Further projects will follow.

In Montreal, La Pépinière will launch the first phase of Quartier général – its new headquarters in Hochelaga – with a year-round intervention and co-creation space for residents. Quartier général will complement the City of Montreal’s Urban Innovation Lab, in which the Foundation is a founding partner.
