Dechinta Bush University Centre for Research and Learning

Background

Founded in 2008, the Dechinta Centre for Research and Learning delivers land-based, university-accredited educational experiences led by northern leaders, experts, elders and professors. It provides northern youth with a transformative experience that is rooted in Indigenous tradition and relevant to the northern job market.

Grant Description

A grant from the Foundation will help Dechinta Bush University Centre for Research and Learning become an accredited university by contributing to government relations work, partnership with Canadian universities and legal work. Additionally, the Foundation will support a study tour to Dechinta by European and Canadian philanthropic partners and it will support Dechinta in developing a social enterprise business plan to encourage additional investments and partnerships.
