Dechinta Bush University

Background

Dechinta Bush University: Centre for Research and Learning is a northern-led institution offering land-based post-secondary programs, co-taught by northern leaders and elders in cooperation with professors from southern universities. Dechinta Bush aims to engage learners in a unique curriculum based on the needs of Canada’s North.

Grant Description

Support from the Foundation will enable Dechinta Bush to strengthen its management at a critical stage in its growth, adding two senior leaders to the team. New partnerships with Northern governments will be established, with a view to developing long term support for integrated programs.

Dechinta will also solidify its relationships with its southern university partners — engaging them to support student participation in their programs.
