Background of the organization

Clean Energy Canada is a climate and clean energy program within the Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue at Simon Fraser University.

The organization works to accelerate Canada’s clean energy transition by sharing the story of the global shift to renewable energy, clean technology, and sustainable industries. It conducts original research, convenes influential dialogues, informs policy leadership, and drives public engagement. It works toward the clean energy transition, as a once-in-a-generation opportunity for Canada to build a resilient, growing, inclusive economy.

Project description

Clean Energy Canada will build and communicate Canada’s clean industrial advantage to 1) Ensure that Canada is positioned as a leader in a net-zero world. (2) Highlight where Canada will have competitive advantages, thereby diversifying the sectors that can benefit from decarbonization. (3) Help Canada to place amongst the ranks of the world’s leading jurisdictions when it comes to decarbonizing its heavy industries (steel, cement and mining) and (4) Promote inclusion as part of an amplified Canadian decarbonization story.
