Carleton Centre for Community Innovation

Background

The Carleton Centre for Community Innovation (3ci) is a university research centre based at Carleton University. Through research, education and program management, 3ci investigates, strengthens and disseminates innovation in community-based economic development and local governance, responsible investment,philanthropic and non-profit leadership, social finance, and community/university engagement.

Grant Description

A grant to the 3ci will support the development of the Canadian Impact Infrastructure Exchange (CIIX), which will provide opportunity for large-scale investment in Canadian communities. The CIIX is envisioned as a non-profit structure that brings together all three levels of government with sources of private capital in order to facilitate investment in infrastructure with significant social and environmental impacts through public/private partnerships.

This grant will support foundational CIIX activities such as engagement of new partners, convening of key stakeholders, and the development of a governance structure.
