Blue Metropolis Foundation

Background of the organisation:

Founded in 1997, the Blue Metropolis Foundation is an arts and culture organization that holds an annual literary conference, awards a suite of writing prizes, and hosts activities that cultivate traditionally under-represented voices and audiences.

Grant Description:

The Foundation has supported the Blue Metropolis Literary Festival in awarding an annual prize for Indigenous authors since 2015.  Building on the success of this award, Blue Met will continue awarding this prize for additional three years and will expand the program to invite critical essays on the winning author’s work by postsecondary students across Canada.
