Atlantic Wildlife Institute

Background

The Atlantic Wildlife Institute promotes learning and awareness about the direct links between environmental health and human wellness through its work in wildlife rescue, rehabilitation, and research. It conducts a variety of educational programs at a 120-acre conservation property near Sackville, New Brunswick, and in community settings throughout Atlantic Canada. The AWIs community work includes successful programs for engaging youth at risk, and prisoners on day release.

Grant Description

To assist the Institute in engaging citizens in the protection of wildlife (augmenting the capacity of other agencies) through public education and volunteer training.
