Project description

The Atmospheric Fund (TAF) is a regional climate agency that invests in low-carbon solutions for the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA). The Retrofit Accelerator, a program of TAF, provides expert services to deliver deep energy retrofits for major multi-residential projects across the GTHA, including community, social housing and condos. The Retrofit Accelerator collaborates with building owners, utilities, governments, residents and other stakeholders to maximize the health, social, environmental and economic outcomes of retrofits. 

Project Description

Funding will be used to fund the Retrofit Accelerator team to engage in deep retrofits in the GTHA. The Retrofit Accelerator will provide funding and financing to retrofit projects, support financing proposals, and use volume-based strategies to reduce transaction costs, improve procurement and standardize the financing of outcomes such as deep emissions reductions, affordability, health, etc. TAF will also test and standardize an investment protocol to attract long-term public and private investments in deep retrofits projects.
