Grant description:

The Shareholder Association for Research and Education (SHARE) will work with the Columbia Instituteand the National Aboriginal Trust Officers Association to encourage institutional investors – beginning with Indigenous trusts – to provide economic opportunities for Indigenous communities, through their investments and by encouraging the companies they invest in to improve local hiring, procurement and community benefits. The partners will offer training to Indigenous trust officers and mainstream institutional investors; create a leadership cohort of trust officers; and disseminate policies and outcomes measurement tools for investors to use in setting and reporting on reconciliation objectives.

Founded in 2000, SHARE is a leading not-for-profit organization in responsible investment services, research and education. They have been working with a growing network of institutional investors to help them develop and implement responsible investment policies and practices.
