Background of the organization

SHARE supports responsible investment via research, education and consulting. They work directly with institutional investors to increase their responsible investment policies and practices.

Project Description

Funding will be for two different projects co-led by SHARE: 

(1) SHARE and RIA (Responsible Investment Association) will serve as the secretariat for Climate Engagement Canada. This new initiative will drive ambitious, coordinated and persistent financial sector advocacy with Canadian companies to drive a net-zero transition. Funding will help establish governance and coordination structures for the project’s implementation.

2) Advancing Racial Equity In Investment Management Project is a joint initiative with SHARE, Inspirit Foundation, Atkinson Foundation and Dragonfly Ventures. It is building on the success of The Reconciliation and Responsible Investment Initiative which McConnell supports. The goal is to create and implement a framework to engage investment managers around systemic racism. Funding will enable engagement and partnership with racialized workers and others who are affected by investment decisions, and promotion of hiring and investment processes and benchmarks to encourage accountability for racial justice outcomes with investment managers.
