Rideau Hall Foundation

Background

The Rideau Hall Foundation gathers, aligns and catalyzes ideas, people and resources to move the Canadian spirit and shared aspirations forward. As an independent, non-political charity, the Foundation works closely with the Governor General and many external partners to support initiatives that build our identity, build capacity and promote the advancement of a caring nation.

Full Description

As part of Canada’s 150th anniversary, Imagine a Canada is a national arts and education initiative that engages Indigenous and non-Indigenous children and youth to share their hopes and ideas about a future Canada when reconciliation is a reality. Young people are invited to create a story, poem, essay, painting or video that envisions the country they want us all to strive for. The winning work from each respective province and territory will be gathered and displayed at Rideau Hall in Ottawa on June 20, 2017, on the eve of National Aboriginal Day, June 21. The project will continue throughout 2017, with follow-up activities that will be moderated by the 4Rs Youth Movement.
