Reseau Accorderie

Background

Reseau Accorderie is a Quebec-based organization that promotes regional development through a model known as timebanking. Co-founded by Desjardins in 2002, Reseau Accorderie organizes people in neighbourhoods to exchange services outside the market economy, using time as currency in place of money. Reseau Accorderie works to build and sustain the Accorderie network and its members, as well as to promote this movement as a solution to poverty and social exclusion.

Full Description

A grant from the Foundation will be used in part to support the start-up of five new sites. It will also be used to strengthen the Network as a whole, such as by capturing and sharing stories on the impact of the timebanking approach, testing social enterprise models, and building relationships with governments and social economy institutions.
