Renaissance

Background

Renaissance is a non-profit organization founded in 1994. Its mission is to help with the social and professional integration of people who have difficulty entering the work force, while at the same time calling on the public to actively protect the environment by recycling used goods. Renaissance operates several retail outlets that sell donated used clothing and household articles.

Full Description

The purpose of this grant is to enable Renaissance to engage a team of trainers to work with participants in its employment readiness and placement program. In particular, the initiative seeks to improve job retention rates among immigrant workers for whom the transition to Canadian workplaces has proven difficult.
