Background of the organization

Neighbours United (NU) develops innovative and inclusive solutions to keep communities healthy and safe. They advance the leadership and skills of communities so we can all live well together. NU leads successful campaigns and programs including the world’s first complete volunteer-based deep engagement canvassing program on climate, to work with over 100,000 people in 13 communities say yes to 100% renewable energy.  

Project description

By sharing stories of life experiences and getting to the heart of dividing issues, “deep canvassing” helps overcome polarization, fear and prejudice.  This unique process meets people where they are at and supports finding common ground on seemingly intractable issues such as climate change. NU will train other organizations to use and deliver deep canvassing and NU will deliver deep canvassing on climate in three locations in British Columbia.
