Together, Ontario Nature and Nature Conservancy of Canadas (NCC) Ontario Region are creating new conservation volunteering opportunities in Ontario through their Volunteer for Nature program.

Founded in 1962, NCC is Canadas only national charity dedicated to preserving ecologically significant areas through outright purchase, donations and conservation easements.

Founded in 1931, Ontario Nature is a network of 138 groups that work to protect Ontario’s natural spaces and provide provincial leadership in parks and protected areas, land-use planning policies and conservation science.

This project is one of the Applied Dissemination projects supported by the Foundation.

The Volunteer for Nature program provides people with opportunities to participate in hands-on conservation projects. The objective of this grant is to identify and prepare the core elements of the Ontario Volunteer for Nature program for dissemination to one other province.
