Background of the organization 

Iron & Earth is a non-profit organization, empowering workers transitioning from the fossil fuel industry. The organization creates pathways to opportunities in the net-zero economy for fossil fuel workers, Indigenous Peoples and their communities. Its programs lower barriers to building community-led climate solutions through engagement, training programs, infrastructure projects and a career portal.
 

 

Project description 

Funding will contribute to strengthen organizational capacity, including for trainings offered, recruiting workers in new communities, diversify training and upskilling programs and offer a career portal to support and track trainees in securing new employment. The project will also develop a government relations strategy to expand programs and retrain oil and gas workers.
