Institute for Research on Public Policy

Background of the organization

The Institute for Research on Public Policy seeks to improve public policy in Canada by generating research, providing insight and influencing debate on current and emerging policy issues facing Canadians and their governments.

Project description

Funding will identify sectors where labour disruptions are expected as a result of the transition to a net-zero carbon economy and create an interactive map with socio-demographic data on the workers and communities most vulnerable to labour disruptions. The IRPP will provide recommendations to all levels of government to improve societal outcomes. A storytelling component on the impacts experienced by communities is part of the project: Informing Policy Decisions for a Low-carbon Workforce Transition.
