First Nations Child and Family Caring Society of Canada

Background

Established in 1998, the First Nations Child and Family Caring Society of Canada is the national voice for First Nations children and their families in matters of safety and well-being. Using a reconciliation framework that addresses the contemporary challenges facing First Nations families, the Caring Society undertakes research, education and public policy campaigns that create the conditions for First Nations children to succeed.

 

Description

Support from the Foundation will fund staff salaries, allowing the Caring Society to continue to work in the following areas: research and public education on reconciliation for First Nations children, promotion of its main initiative, Jordan’s Principle, and other reconciliation events, maintenance of current partnerships and engagement of new partners, and mentoring of 10-15 students per year.
