Chez Doris

Background of the organization

Chez Doris was founded over forty years ago and is the only women’s day shelter in Montreal open 7 days a week. Their services include meals, showers, clothing depot, respite beds, referral assistance, a housing placement program, a financial management program, legal & tax filing services, health and mental health services, and educational and socio-recreational programs.

Project description

Funding will be used to provide 300 places for emergency overnight shelter for women and make it available year-round, in addition to the other day-time programs and services offered. As part of this expansion, Chez Doris also aims to extend its services, such as psychosocial services during the evening and overnight, and housing support services throughout the day.
