Centre le Havre de Trois-Rivières

Background

Located in Trois-Rivières, Centre Le Havre’s purpose is to prevent homelessness and enable vulnerable people who are in crisis to return to a stable life in the community. It does this by offering around-the-clock access to a 16-bed emergency shelter and transition housing combined with tailored support for individuals.

Grant Description

The Foundation’s grant supports Centre Le Havre’s project to share and help others implement its new client-centered approach, which integrates a broadspectrum of services for the homeless.

The Knowledge Transfer Project will accompany and coach five health agencies in Quebec regions (Gatineau, Sherbrooke, Drummondville, Quebec City, and Northern Quebec) in using the model. This will involve staff exchanges and an immersion experience with the multidisciplinary team in Trois-Rivières. Resource material will be produced and online sharing will be used as much as possible. All material will be translated into English. Le Havre will also develop material to explain the model more generally and will host and participate in workshops, forums, and networks.
