Action Dignity

Background of the organization

ActionDignity (previously the Ethno-Cultural Council of Calgary) was publicly launched on March 21, 2002, on the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination and the first day of spring, ushering in a season of hope and new beginnings amidst growing intolerance of cultural diversity during the six months after September 11. ActionDignity’s approach is to catalyze collective impact by building the capacities of grassroots racialized community members to strengthen their communities and bring about change at multiple levels: individuals and families, communities, and policy advocacy for systems change.

Project description

Funding will contribute to Community Connectors to run a series of community conversations over the next two years, to surface key issues, identify solutions, form natural support groups and disseminate community insights with mainstream organizations to influence systems change.
