Leadership Transition at the Foundation

The Foundation is pleased to announce a leadership transition. The changes are at the level of President and CEO, Vice President, and the new position of Chief Operations Officer.

Stephen Huddart, President and CEO, has advised the Board he will be stepping down before the end of 2020. The search for his replacement is underway, and is led by the executive recruitment and training firm, Watson Advisory. All enquiries and suggestions for the position of President and CEO can be sent to Sharon Rudy: sharon@watsoninc.ca

John Cawley will step down as Vice President, Operations and Programs, on June 4. Cawley joined the Foundation in November 2005. Starting as a Senior Program Officer, Cawley led work on the Community Service Learning and Sport for Development initiatives as well as several youth engagement programs. As VP, Cawley led and mentored members of the program team and ensured effective operational and grantmaking practice. Over the past two years Cawley supported the Foundation in developing a new strategic direction.

Natasha Alani, who joined the Foundation in 2018, was appointed to the newly-created role of Chief Operations Officer in February, which covers some of the Vice-President’s responsibilities in addition to others. Alani has led ongoing work to advance the Foundation’s culture, structure, systems and talent practices. Before joining the McConnell team, Alani was the president of Kiffin, a sustainability driven, social purpose food business, and was a director at the Boys and Girls Club of San Francisco.
