LEAP | Pecaut Centre for Social Impact

About the organization

Founded in 2012, the Pecaut Centre uses a venture philanthropy approach to support social innovators in creating systemic change in the health, education and employment sectors, using pro bono corporate advisors. To date, the Pecaut Centre has helped over 600 organizations and raised over $50 million through their smart money model.

Grant Description:

The Foundation’s Innoweave initiative currently focuses on providing training and coaching support to community organizations with sufficient size and capacity to achieve greater impact through innovation. It is less geared to support smaller organizations or those working on leading-edge social innovation. A grant from the Foundation will focus on increasing Pecaut|LEAP’s ability to support these leading-edge social innovators.

There is currently a waiting list of organizations that would benefit from LEAP support. The barrier is a shortage of staff to manage the pro bono network, undertake due diligence and serve selected organizations.  Funds from this grant will be used to hire a Program Manager and a Pecaut Fellow for the next two years. The Program Manager will lead the selection of future projects, manage the accelerator program, and support the growth of additional charities in cooperation with pro bono partners. They will also open a Montreal office.
