Altruvest Charitable Services is a registered Canadian charity founded in 1994 by a group of business leaders. Its mission is to increase the effectiveness of charities and strengthen Canadian communities by increasing the governance competency of boards and senior leaders in the charitable sector and by expanding the pool of potential directors.

Full Description

The grant is intended to support the national expansion of Altruvest’s BoardMatch program. It matches potential candidates for directorships, primarily from the corporate sector, and charities seeking administrators with specific expertise. The program also provides online training for volunteers and charities on key governance issues.

Altruvest works in partnership with the community leadership programs in Calgary and Thunder Bay to offer BoardMatch in their respective communities. Community leadership programs in these cities receive additional funding under this grant.
