Culture Days 1st Annual Congress

Culture Days — a non-profit organization that raises awareness, accessibility, participation and engagement of Canadians in the arts and cultural life of their communities, held its first annual National Congress on Culture on May 24th in Toronto.
Culture Days is a citizen-focused volunteer initiative that takes place each September in urban and rural centres across Canada. In just three years it has become a highly popular national celebration — in 2012, 1.6 million Canadians participated in 7000 culture days, events and performances in 850 communities. It is based on Journées de la culture, a three-day event produced annually by Culture pour tous in Quebec since 1997.
The Congress enabled Culture Days volunteers and advisors to participate in face to face learning about building on the organization’s early success. Learn more about Culture Days here.
