Background of the organization:

The First Nations Child and Family Caring Society of Canada was established in 2002 to provide research, professional development and networking services to First Nations child and family service agencies across Canada. The Caring Society has a particular focus on the prevention of, and response to, child mistreatment.

 

Grant description:

The Foundation’s support would fund staff salaries, enabling the Caring Society to continue its work in the following areas: carrying out research and public education on reconciliation for First Nations children, promoting their landmark initiative “Jordan’s Principle” and other reconciliation events, maintaining current partnerships and engaging with new partners, and mentoring 10-15 students per year.
